We are so excited to announce that our firm’s founder, Karla C. Miller, was recently awarded the “3 Years 10 Best” designation by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys™ (AIOFLA)! The AIOFLA is an impartial organization that recognizes excellence in both the attorney and their level of client satisfaction. Candidates are ranked “10 Best” by state in six areas of practice. Karla was named one of the 10 best family law attorneys in the state of Tennessee for the third year in a row.
Criteria for candidate selection
Attorneys are nominated by peers or a member of the AIOFLA board. The AIOFLA reviews the list of nominees and selects the finalists for the “10 Best” award according to the following criteria:
- “Impeccable” client satisfaction reviews
- Top rated attorneys in their field
- Must be an industry leader
- No unresolved complaints
- Awards and recognition
- Association memberships
- Publications on subject matter in their area of practice
- Speaking engagements
- Education and continued education
The American Institute believes that most awards given for excellence fail to take the attorney/client relationship into full account, and they are offering a new way for people in need of legal services to assess an attorney’s attention to their clientele. When a prospective client sees that an attorney has won a “10 Best” award, they can be assured that this candidate has won the approval of not just other attorneys, but of their clients.

Karla C. Miller has devoted her entire career to the practice of family law in Tennessee. She attended Auburn University and Nashville School of Law, and upon graduation in 1996, she opened her own law firm and has been assisting families throughout Tennessee since then.
